Recent Reds Under $20

Hello fellow wine lovers!
Just wanted to share some recent reds that pleasantly surprised us.
3 different varietals...all affordable.
What's in your glass tonight?
CHEERS!

FRANCIS COPPOLA "DIAMOND COLLECTION"
Black Label Claret
Cabernet Sauvignon based...blended in Bourdeux Style
(Cabernet, Merlot, Cab Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec)
2010
California
Average price: $15
Alcohol: 13.5%
Aroma: Oaky spices and notes of plum and berries
Taste: Smooth dark fruit flavors with traces of vanilla and cherries
Pairings and thoughts: Without fail, so far, the blends just always seem to do it for us. This paired great with our tray of dark firm cheeses, meats and dark chocolate. The more the wine breathed, the better it got. Good value for the price!

ROBERT MONDAVI PRIVATE SELECTION
Pinot Noir
2011
Central Coast, California
Average price: $10
Alcohol: 13.5%
Aroma: Cherries and Blackberry with slight oaky scent
Taste: Dark fruit flavors, particularly plum with hints of oak
Pairings and thoughts:  Mondavi never disappoints and always offers a nice value for the price...this Pinot is no exception. Smooth and light...paired great with our Chicken dinner!

BOLLA
Chianti
(90% Sangiovese, 10% other)
2011
Tuscany, Italy
Average price: under $10!
Alcohol: 13%
Aroma: Berry scents with floral notes and hint of spice
Taste: Cherry flavors with traces of plum and raspberry
Pairings and thoughts: So surprised at how robust and yummy it is at such an affordable price. Bolla wines tend to be labeled "cheap", but this Chianti left a nice impression and proves that $$ doesn't mean anything! Paired amazingly well with our pumpkin cheese balls and Alfredo spicy fettuccine. Definitely recommend this wine...great value for the price!

 The End.
