Dreaming of a White Christmas...or Red!

Enjoy our great Italian wine selection for the holidays.

We've definitely been enjoying some great red wines so far this holiday season...and it's not even Winter yet!  As Wine enthusiasts who happen to also be fashionistas, we wanted to remind everyone of a very important fact:

Below are the top 3 white wines we've enjoyed recently. At an average price of $10 or less per bottle, they are not only affordable but a great value for your dollar. They make for some terrific food pairings, or just as good if sipped on their own. Best served chilled.

CAVIT COLLECTION
Pinot Grigio
2011
Italy
Approximate price: under $10
Alcohol: 12.1%
Aroma: Light notes of apple and pear
Taste: Crisp, a little dry, lightly fruity with traces of citrus
Pairings and thoughts: A very versatile Pinot Grigio; enjoy with turkey, chicken, seafood, fish, creamy cheeses, fruit and tart desserts.

BEAULIEU VINEYARD COASTAL ESTATES
Chardonnay
2010
California
Approximate price: under $10
Alcohol: 13.5%
Aroma: Strong notes of apple, with light floral scents and a hint of vanilla
Taste:  Tropical and citrus fruit flavors with a light oakiness
Pairings and thoughts: We are not the biggest Chardonnay fans, but this one was surprisingly nice. We paired it with some tilapia and it was a delicious combination. You can also enjoy with seafood, chicken, Brie cheese, creamy sauces and pasta dishes.

STERLING VINEYARDS VINTNER'S COLLECTION
Chardonnay
2010
California
Average price: $10
Alcohol: 13.5%
Aroma: Strong scents of lemon and peach with a hint of vanilla
Taste:  Light tropical fruit flavors with strong notes of citrus and traces of spice and oak
Pairings and thoughts: Extremely great value for the price. Would recommend to someone trying Chardonnay for the first time or who is not a huge fan. We paired this light Chardonnay with some fiery shrimp and it was a great contrast. You can also enjoy with chicken, creamy cheeses and pasta dishes.

Happy Holidays!
Vino & Vintage
